Not every job needs a whole product built from scratch. Sometimes you have the material, you just need the welder, the press, or the heavy-duty sewing machine. Minurphy sells its factory labour and equipment time to other businesses and individuals who need PVC welding, stitching, eyeletting, or industrial sewing done.
What labour means here
You bring the fabric, PVC sheet, printed banner, canvas section, or product needing a repair. We apply the technique. You keep the finished piece. We charge for labour and consumables (thread, eyelets, webbing), not material.
This is how most SA print shops work with us. They print, we finish (hem-weld, set eyelets, reinforce, package). For event production companies on tight deadlines, we hold overflow capacity. For makers and hobbyists, we are the place to take material that consumer sewing or welding kit cannot handle.
PVC welding
We heat-weld PVC in our factory for the cleanest, strongest seams on standard PVC tarp from 400 gsm up. It is the same welding we use on our own products: vats, ice baths, banners, and load tarps. The same process handles PVC sheet, fabric backings, and most flexible plastics, on both long straight seams and production runs.
Industrial sewing
Walking-foot industrial machines on canvas up to 680 gsm, vinyl, and heavy bag fabric. Double-needle, single-needle, and zigzag for elastic and webbing. We handle tents, sails, heavy bags, gear repair, marine canvas, and any project beyond consumer-machine capability.
Banner finishing for print shops
Print shops are our biggest trade customer. Bring printed PVC banner rolls, we apply: welded hems (top and bottom), brass eyelets at 500 mm standard spacing or to spec, weld-on webbing reinforcement at corners and stress points, optional pole pockets and rope channels. Priced per metre, no minimum. Same-day turnaround on stock items under 10 m.
Eyeletting
Brass and nickel eyelets, set with proper rolled flanges (not the stapled kind that pull out), on any fabric or PVC. We do small batches and full production runs.
Webbing and reinforcement
Weld-on or stitched webbing for load straps, handle reinforcement, hem reinforcement, and corner protection. Polypropylene webbing in various colours.
Recommended installers
We manufacture and finish; for fitting work we can point you to installers we trust. Installers are welcome to contact us to be added to our database of recommended installers.
Repairs
If something we built (or something else built well) has torn, faded, or come apart at the seams, bring it in. Most repairs cost a fraction of replacement and add years of service life.
Pricing
